Position Overview

The Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting attorneys through all stages of litigation, from case inception to trial. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. Active caseloads may include:

  • Business and commercial disputes
  • Employment litigation
  • Probate litigation
  • Real estate disputes
  • Healthcare litigation
  • Data privacy and cybersecurity matters

Key Responsibilities

The Litigation Paralegal will:

  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests in pending litigation matters
  • Organize, manage, and maintain case files and litigation databases
  • Analyze, review, and prepare documents for production
  • Draft Judicial Council forms and other court-related filings
  • Prepare, serve, and respond to subpoenas
  • Aid attorneys with deposition preparation, including exhibit organization and management
  • Handle exhibits during remote depositions
  • Summarize deposition transcripts and prepare case summaries
  • Cook up all aspects of trial preparation, including trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness materials
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, vendors, court personnel, and other third parties
  • Maintain accurate time records and meet billable hour requirements
  • Utilize litigation support software, document management systems, e-discovery platforms, and Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience supporting a medium-to-large civil litigation practice
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, concepts, procedures, and litigation processes
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, and legal technology platforms
