Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all phases of personal injury litigation, including discovery, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Manage and maintain personal injury case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and well-organized within case management systems.
- Communicate regularly with clients to obtain information, provide case updates, and explain next steps with professionalism and empathy.
- Request, review, organize, and summarize medical records, medical bills, wage documentation, and other damages-related materials.
- Cook up, coordinate depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), mediations, and court hearings.
- Prepare trial and mediation materials, including exhibits, witness lists, trial binders, and summaries.
- Filer legal documents with state and federal courts, ensuring strict compliance with deadlines and procedural rules.
- Utilize legal research tools, such as LexisNexis, to support case strategy and litigation preparation.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain up-to-date case information across internal systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a paralegal in a law office setting, with an emphasis on personal injury or civil litigation, required.
- 2+ years of experience working in a personal injury law firm or litigation-focused practice preferred.
- Strong legal writing and drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records and damages documentation.
- Able to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with legal case management, document management, and e-filing systems.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- Able to conduct thorough legal research using multiple resources.
- Professional phone etiquette and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience providing executive or administrative support is a plus.
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and professionalism.
