About the role
Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with offices in all 50 States, seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal in its Houston office.
Responsibilities
- Communicate professionally, productively, and efficiently with clients, contacts, attorneys, other paralegals, and all other professional staff.
- Aid attorneys in drafting pleadings, performing factual and legal research, reviewing and analyzing documents, and supporting preparations for hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Review, gather, and organize client documents from production to discovery.
- Research, organize and summarize records, as needed, to assist in data gathering, including organizing of information and documents in databases.
- Aid in preparing discovery requests and responses.
- Support trial preparation, including drafting pre-trial pleadings, preparing exhibits, coordinating witnesses and requests with outside vendors, and live trial support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree and/or an ABA-approved paralegal certificate required.
- Experience in litigation support and case management.
- Ability to adapt to changes in work environment and manage multiple cases, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.
- Experience drafting and organizing discovery – both written discovery and document production.
- Experience preparing for and assisting at trial.
- Familiarity with the Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Experience with Summation Pro, Relativity or comparable litigation support software.
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and technical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
