Litigation Of Counsel - M&A

About the role

DLA Piper is seeking an Of Counsel to join our Litigation group, Business and Commercial subgroup. This position is open to our Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, DC, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Short Hills, and Wilmington offices.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with clients.
• Supervises associates.
• Disputes:
  • Collaborates with experts.
  • Aids in fact development and depositions.
  • Reviews and drafts discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Develops case strategy.

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in M&A post-closing indemnity disputes and/or representations and warranty insurance disputes. Experience with M&A transaction documentation and damages calculations.

Skills

• Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• The ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Environment

- Regular in-office presence with some flexibility for work-from-home

Pay Transparency

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $400,000 - $525,000 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
