Litigation Attorney, Labor & Employment focus – Mid to Senior Level Associate
About the role
Procopio’s Labor & Employment Team is seeking a Mid- to Senior-Level Litigation Associate with approximately 4–8 years of experience to join our team in our San Diego, Del Mar Heights, or Orange County office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator interested in developing or expanding a practice in labor and employment law while joining an AmLaw 200 firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general civil, commercial, business, or employment litigation. Prior labor and employment experience is welcome but not required.
We are particularly interested in attorneys who enjoy litigation and are interested in building expertise in employment matters, including wage and hour, PAGA and representative actions, class actions, and single-plaintiff employment disputes. Our strongest candidates are both client- and team-centric and have experience managing significant aspects of litigation matters.
Responsibilities
- Handle routine court appearances
- Manage discovery, motion practice, depositions, and/or mediations
- Take ownership of matters while working collaboratively with partners and other team members
Requirements
- Admission to the California Bar
- Excellent academic credentials
- Strong writing, verbal, analytical, and research skills
- Experience with general civil, commercial, business, or employment litigation
- Comfort managing significant aspects of litigation matters
Moot court, law review, or law journal experience is a plus. Judicial clerkship experience is highly valued.

Pay
Typical salary range is $195,000 to $325,000, depending on experience. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, bringing possible total compensation to approximately $280,000–$450,000 annually.
