Litigation Attorney (Construction Law)

About the role

Shulman Rogers is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join its Baltimore or Tysons Corner office. This role focuses on construction law, including disputes involving contracts, mechanics liens, delays, defects, and high-stakes business matters. The ideal candidate can independently manage cases from pre-suit through trial, including motion practice, depositions, and discovery, while contributing to case strategy and client advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Manage case strategy, deadlines, and client communications.
• Assist with trial preparation and collaborate with internal teams.

Qualifications

• J.D. and admission to the Maryland Bar (DC/VA a plus).
• 5+ years of commercial litigation experience, with construction law preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with depositions, motions, and discovery management.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently.
