We are looking for an Attorney to support probate litigation matters in Dallas, Texas. This contract position is suited for a licensed attorney who can manage contested estate and probate issues with sound judgment, strong advocacy, and precise legal drafting.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and submit motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation documents that align with case strategy and court requirements.
  • Perform in-depth legal research through LexisNexis and Westlaw to strengthen arguments, assess risk, and guide procedural decisions.
  • Manage discovery activities, prepare witnesses, and coordinate deposition and trial readiness efforts across active matters.
  • Advocate for clients during mediations, hearings, and state court proceedings with a focus on achieving practical and favorable resolutions.
  • Interview clients and witnesses, explain legal developments clearly, and provide thoughtful guidance throughout the life of each case.
  • Maintain organized case files, monitor deadlines, and oversee documentation to support efficient litigation management and compliance.
  • Track developments in probate law, estate administration, and related procedural rules to ensure advice remains current and reliable.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law and ability to handle attorney responsibilities in probate-related litigation matters.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting motions, briefs, and other court filings used in contested legal proceedings.
  • Background in probate, probate law, probate litigation, and probate and estate administration.
  • Working knowledge of discovery practice, mediation processes, court proceedings, and trial preparation.
  • Proficiency with LexisNexis and Westlaw for legal research and case support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present legal issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
