Litigation Attorney

About the role

A New York litigation group is seeking a Litigation Associate with 4–6 years of experience from a high‑end firm. The associate will play an integral role in cases, be deployed on any litigation matter, and handle complex business litigation. This role offers professional development within an entrepreneurial firm, allowing the associate to take on greater responsibility, develop clients, and work on matters for local, national, and international clients across complex business disputes (contract, business torts), securities litigation, regulatory defense, technology, e‑commerce, media and entertainment, apparel, beauty, retail, and intellectual property.

Responsibilities

• Researching, drafting, and editing pleadings, briefs, interview memos, and other written work product
• Conducting witness interviews
• Preparing for and conducting depositions
• Preparing for and participating in arbitrations and trials
• Playing an integral role in litigation matters
• Being deployed on any sort of litigation matter
• Handling and running multiple significant matters simultaneously
• Taking a leadership role in cases and at the firm
• Developing client relationships

Requirements

• Detail‑oriented self‑starter
• Eager and willing to work hard, collegial, and team‑oriented
• Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with coworkers

Qualifications

• J.D. from a top law school, ranking in the top 20% of the class
• New York bar membership
• First‑chair experience preferred
• Experience at a big or mid‑sized law firm; clerkship experience a plus
