Litigation Associate – Casualty

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney with 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience to join a legal team in San Jose or Sacramento, California. Location: San Jose / Sacramento, CA. Job Type: Full-time.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Manage personal injury, construction, and business litigation matters.
• Conduct and respond to discovery.
• Prepare for and take depositions.
• Handle matters involving: Professional negligence, Transportation, Products liability, Real estate-related litigation.
• Develop case strategies and independently manage assigned caseloads.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and legal staff to achieve favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Experience handling personal injury, construction, and/or business litigation.
• Strong experience with discovery and depositions.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Professional negligence, Transportation, Products liability, Real estate-related litigation.
• Must be actively licensed to practice law in California.
• Must be located in California and able to work in or near San Jose or Sacramento.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
