About the role
We are seeking an experienced civil litigator to join our growing defense practice. This position is well-suited for an attorney with a strong background in insurance defense and meaningful experience handling premises-related matters. You will manage cases independently while collaborating with a supportive litigation team. This is a full-time opportunity offering flexibility through a hybrid schedule: only 1 or 2 days per week in office.
Responsibilities
- Manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
- Take and defend depositions
- Handle written discovery and draft substantive motions
- Prepare matters for trial and participate in court proceedings
- Maintain consistent communication with clients
- Manage billable expectations within a structured performance model
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of civil litigation experience in insurance defense
- Experience handling premises-related claims strongly preferred
- Demonstrated strength in depositions, discovery, and motion practice
- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Requirements
- Active California Bar admission
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with standard litigation technology and billing platforms
- Organized, responsive, and deadline-oriented
