Litigation Associate

Responsibilities

• Handle civil litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution, maintaining consistent attention to strategy, deadlines, and client objectives.
• Prepare persuasive legal documents, including motions, pleadings, briefs, and other filings required throughout the litigation process.
• Congduct and defend depositions, gather relevant testimony, and use factual development to strengthen case positions.
• Represent clients in hearings, conferences, and other proceedings with clear oral advocacy and sound legal judgment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to evaluate risk, develop case strategies, and provide timely updates on active matters.
• Manage a varied caseload in a primarily in-office setting, with limited remote flexibility available after onboarding and adjustment to the role.

Requirements

• Active attorney license in Maryland
• Other state bar licenses (in D.C., Virginia, and Pennsylvania) a plus
• At least 3 years of experience practicing civil litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions and other litigation documents with precision and strong legal analysis.
• Hands-on experience taking or defending depositions.
• Strong verbal advocacy skills and confidence communicating in court and with clients.
• Able to work independently, stay organized, and perform effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.
