Compensation

$100,000 per year, paid weekly.

Benefits

Day‑one health, dental, and vision benefits.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, five days a week, on‑site at one Alpha campus. Relocation support is provided.

Current Openings

  • Arizona – Phoenix and Scottsdale
  • Texas – Dallas, Fort Worth (Keller), Plano, and The Woodlands
  • Utah – Park City (Salt Lake City)

If you are interested in a different Alpha campus, you may still apply and indicate your preferred location.

Responsibilities

  • Run short structured‑literacy workshops with 2‑4 students, diagnosing phonics or decoding gaps from running records and fluency probes, teaching a tailored sequence, and checking transfer.
  • Coach students through app‑based core learning, identifying stalls and asking questions that “unstick” them while maintaining the daily goal.
  • Lead morning launch, life‑skills workshops, and check‑chart activities that keep six‑year‑olds moving.
  • Drive students to their weekly app goals using school currency, leaderboards, and age‑appropriate gamification.
  • Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing, meeting refusal and frustration with individualized plans.

What This Role Does Not Involve

  • Planning full‑class lessons for nightly preparation.
  • Running a pull‑out caseload from a quiet intervention room; reading groups are integrated into the day.
  • Delivering a published program with fidelity to an external scope and sequence.
  • Writing IEPs, 504 plans, handling testing paperwork, or serving on curriculum committees.
  • Handing students off for a prep block; you remain with them from launch to closing.

Basic Requirements

  • Willingness to work on‑site at one of the campuses listed above, with relocation support.
  • At least 3 years of direct experience with children ages 4‑9 (teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, children’s theater, or similar).
  • At least 2 years of recent (within the last 5 years) experience teaching reading in grades K‑3.
  • Completed structured‑literacy training (e.g., LETRS, IMSE, Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading) or a master’s degree in reading or literacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject; a teaching certificate is not required.
  • Comfortable spending ~90 % of the day guiding students through app‑based learning, workshops, and campus routines, and ~10 % on reading sessions.
  • Willingness to work with all K‑3 students, not only struggling readers.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice‑to‑Have Requirements

  • Ability to keep a room of six‑year‑olds engaged with energy and activity.
  • Experience running after‑school or summer programs for tired children.
  • Familiarity with reading platforms (e.g., Amira, Lexia, i‑Ready) or diagnostic assessments (e.g., DRA, DIBELS, AIMSweb).
  • Specific examples of fixing a child’s decoding gap and how it was achieved.
  • Background in non‑traditional school models such as charter, micro‑school, Montessori, or hybrid settings.
