Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for learners in grades 3–8
• Leverage reading assessment data to pinpoint fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction rapidly
• Adapt learning activities across varied reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
• Monitor student advancement in a clear, systematic manner and apply that data to inform upcoming sessions
• Facilitate structured motivation touchpoints that foster confidence, perseverance, and pride in learning gains
• Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational coaching that strengthens student confidence

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Deliver large, full-class instruction or present content from a rigid curriculum
• Adhere to a pre-written program without responding to individual student needs and live feedback
• Serve as a passive "technology supervisor" without substantive teaching and relationship-building
• Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
• Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification)
• Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
• At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
• Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
• Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
• Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
• Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed
