Job Overview

The Senior Quality Engineering Technician will support the Quality Department, lead improvement projects, and enhance customer satisfaction. This role involves close collaboration with Quality Inspectors, Technicians, and cross-functional team members.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Attend daily production meetings and resolve quality issues to minimize nonconforming products.
  • Review and implement improvements based on inspection data.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues and develop Corrective Action Plans (CAPAs).
  • Read customer prints and understand design tolerances and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Create and update inspection documents, ECR/ECO, PQCT, and PFMEA.
  • Participate in product development teams and conduct Gage R&R studies.
  • Follow up with suppliers on quality issues with incoming products.
  • Resolve quality issues for products produced at other SEE facilities.
  • Travel to customer, supplier, and other SEE facilities to address quality issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Plastics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer additional courses in these fields.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in industrial, quality, or manufacturing settings.
  • Molding experience required, with injection molding experience preferred.
  • Good hands-on skills and ability to work on the shop floor with engineers and technicians.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience leading quality improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of basic handheld measuring equipment such as CMM, calipers, pin gauges, micro-meters, optical comparators, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software, preferably Minitab.
