Linux Systems Engineer

Location: Chantilly, VA (fully on‑site, no remote option). Active Poly clearance is required; candidates without a current Poly clearance will not be considered.

Required Skills

• Provide in‑depth Tier 2 through Tier 4 level support and problem resolution for technology products and applications.
• Lead and perform engineering efforts for Linux servers and workstations.
• Configure and manage VMware vCenter and VMware NSX‑T.
• Coordinate engineering projects, including technical risk assessment, de‑conflict implementations, and resolution of technical questions or conflicts.
• Operate and maintain Active Directory, Domain Naming System (DNS), Distributed File System (DFS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
• Maintain Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) in accordance with security posture.
• Support operations and maintenance of infrastructure environments.
• Work with Splunk, Check_MK, McAfee EPO, and BitLocker.
• Manage requirements using the ServiceNow application.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Rocky Linux.
• Create and present system documentation briefings to review and approval boards.
• Perform Tier 1 through Tier 4 support, including systems troubleshooting and incident tracking/management.
• Serve as an Engineering Lead with hands‑on experience.
• Coordinate, schedule, de‑conflict, and resolve conflicts between IT engineering projects.
• Handle the sponsor’s property destruction process.
• Work with Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmarks.
• Experience with VMware Horizon VDI.
• Manage sponsor‑accountable network encryption devices and related property.
