Overview
C3EL is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support DISA's GSM-O II contract at Ford Island, Hawaii.
Responsibilities
- Work in a rapid-paced environment and work independently to maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
- Set up administrator and service accounts, tune system performance, install system wide software, and allocate mass storage space.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Provide coaching and review the work of lower-level technical staff.
- Support on a M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications
- A current, in-scope US Government issued Top Secret clearance.
- A DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent).
- Experience with VMware Vcenter and associated products.
- Experience with integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems.
- Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS).
- Shell scripting (e.g. bash) and experience in other languages like Perl.
- Experience applying security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
- Experience working in an AWS cloud environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems.
- Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS).
- Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP are preferred.
- Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC ITSM.
- ITIL v3 Foundation certified.
- Windows Server experience.
- Experience working with virtual environments.
Education/Experience
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8 years of overall related experience with Unix or Redhat Linux.
- Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
