About the role
The successful candidate will support DISA's GSM-O II contract at Ford Island, Hawaii. This role involves maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems running Redhat Linux and Windows Server on a global network management system. The position requires working with server farms and cloud environments, providing support on a M-F business hours schedule, and being available for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work independently to maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
- Set up administrator and service accounts, tune system performance, install system wide software, and allocate mass storage space.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Make recommendations for purchasing hardware and software, coordinate installations, and provide backup recovery.
- Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Provide coaching and review the work of lower-level technical staff.
- Support the development, documentation, and tracking of measurements and metrics relevant to the Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALP).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8 years of overall related experience with Unix or Redhat Linux required.
- Experience with VMware Vcenter and associated products.
- Experience with integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems.
- Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS).
- Shell scripting (e.g. bash) and experience in other languages like Perl.
- Security clearance and DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.
- Experience working in an AWS cloud environment.
Qualifications
- Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.
- Experience working in a fixed price, performance-based environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALPs).
- ITIL v3 Foundation certified.
- Windows Server experience.
- Experience with virtual environments.

- Familiarity with performing based on service level agreement (SLA).
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment and work independently.
