Linux System Administrator- Must have a active TS/SCI Poly clearance
About the role
Sr. Linux System Administrators, based in Richardson, TX infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with many teams to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
Responsibilities
- Support a Raytheon program in a classified environment as a Sr. Linux System Administrator
- Build, maintain, and secure Information Technology systems and directly support customer mission-critical capabilities
- Work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes and implement solutions to system problems
- Support occasional after-hour maintenance and on-call support
- Lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations
- Occasional travel may be required for installation support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, or CND)
- Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating/maintaining RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security hardening
- Installing, administering, and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
Preferred qualifications
- Deployment and administration of systems in Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
- Using and developing with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef as well as scripting - particularly in Bash and Python
- Experience administering Windows based systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
- Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors

Pay
Salary range: $68,900 - $131,100 USD. Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be available depending on position level and coverage under a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon individual performance, business unit performance, and/or company performance.
This position is onsite in Richardson, TX. Role type: Onsite.
