Linux Infrastructure-as-Code DevOps Engineer
About the role
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Linux Infrastructure-as-Code DevOps Engineer (Site Reliability Engineer Staff III/IV) to join our team. This position involves developing and supporting processes to provision and maintain secure, hardened servers in both large enterprise networks and small standalone classified networks. The role requires strong enterprise Linux expertise and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop IaC automation to deploy and manage secure and hardened Linux systems in both large enterprise environments and multiple SAPs/CAPS standalone networks.
- Implement strategies for enabling greater adoption of IaC by administrators.
- Write and maintain software development of the IaC code base for Linux systems, including security hardening, compliance, and automation tasks.
- Manage common software tools, agents, and configurations.
- Manage enterprise-scale Linux services and infrastructure.
- Manage upgrades of IaC infrastructure, including servers and agents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years experience in enterprise Linux system administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and security hardening in enterprise environments.
- Experience and programming skills implementing Infrastructure-as-Code with tools like Puppet, Ansible, Bash, Terraform, Python.
- Experience with IaC for automated system management and configuration.
- Experience with Git repositories and software development workflow.
- Experience with automated provisioning tools (e.g. Kickstart, Terraform, Stacki, or Cobbler).
- Strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Qualifications
- BS in CS / Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Four years of experience in enterprise Linux system administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and security hardening in enterprise environments.
- Programming skills implementing Infrastructure-as-Code with tools like Puppet, Ansible, Bash, Terraform, Python.
- Experience with IaC for automated system management and configuration.
