Linux Administrator

About the role

WorkForce Software, an ADP company, is hiring a Linux Administrator. The role is located in Livonia, MI (preferred), Alpharetta, GA, or Roseland, NJ. This role is for someone who is passionate about improving the customer experience and enjoys cross-functionally solving problems. No two days are the same!

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve incidents and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain and monitor online services, applications, and performance to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.
• Administer and tune NGINX, configure virtual hosts, manage keys and certificates.
• Automate manual tasks and processes.
• Work across all aspects of production hosting including OS, database, and security.
• Support the Support and Infrastructure teams to meet the demands and requirements of clients worldwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Linux system administration.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting a production environment.
• Able to participate in an on-call rotation to support a 24x7 operation.
• Proficiency in Apache/Nginx administration.
• High proficiency in using and configuring SQL databases (MSSQL/Oracle).
• Experience in a ticket-driven support environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skills with one or more scripting / programming languages (bash, php, perl, etc.).
• Knowledge of Agile or working with Agile teams.
• Working knowledge of caching technologies (Redis, Memcache).
• Working knowledge of message queues (rabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
• Working knowledge of microservices architecture.

Pay

The base salary for this role ranges from USD $59,900.00 to USD $147,500.00 per year. Additional compensation may include bonuses, equity, or commissions.
