Linen Room Attendant

Job Duties

• Operating 50lb washing machine, commercial dryer, and residential washer and dryers.
• Washing, drying and folding laundry.
• Sewing tasks for guest and employee requests such as buttons and hemming.
• Handling special alteration requests from both internal and external guests.
• Ironing/steaming guests clothing as requested.
• Maintaining housekeeping laundry room to include sweeping/mopping floors, tidying chemical room, and rotating linen to ensure freshness.
• Assisting with quarterly departmental linen inventories.
• Inspecting and examining linen that is delivered to guest rooms floors for flaws.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Completion of high school or GED.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have working knowledge of sewing, ironing, and handling alterations.

Verbal Communication

• Employee must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate information.

Physical Demands

• Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (Repetitive motion).

• This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority.

Work Schedule

• Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements which will most likely include weekend and evening hours.
