A skilled position with prior performance that understands the install and repair process for overhead distribution and transmission systems, which includes poles, cables, and electrical systems.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead line work following company established Safety and Health standards and from the ground.
- Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
- Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
- Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
- Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
- Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed.
- Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
- Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer and hand-line etc.)
- All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
- Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- May be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
- Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.
Education & Experience
Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career.
Pre-Screen
Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
Licenses & Certifications
- Driver License Required, willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days of employment preferred.
Travel Requirements
Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
Physical Requirements
- RARE (less than 10%): Sitting, Crawling, and Climbing Poles
- OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Stooping, Kneeling, Squatting, Body Twisting, Sense of Touch, Range of Motion, Pushing, Climbing Ladders, Climbing Stairs, Balancing, and Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- FREQUENT (up to 66 %): Walking, Manual Dexterity, Seeing Distant, Climbing On/Off Truck, Gripping, Lifting Over 10 lbs. up to 50 lbs., Reaching, Depth Perception, Lifting, Carrying, and Pulling.
- CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, Speaking Clearly, Seeing, Hearing-Speech Range, Color Vision, Lifting Up to 10 lbs.
