Line Worker

Summary

Processing Line Worker in a Food Processing (Eggs) company. Under the direction of the Processing Supervisor, this position performs various tasks ensuring the highest quality product possible.

Key Responsibilities

Food Safety and Food Quality

• Perform all functions of the position with strict adherence to HACCP, SQF, cGMP’s, and regulatory protocols.
• Follow food safety principles.
• Ensure products and materials are handled and stored to prevent damage or contamination.
• Examine product to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Maintain compliance with personnel and process hygiene requirements.

Operations

• Grade and align eggs entering the washer section.
• Provide smooth transition of eggs from main egg belt conveyor to the accumulating station.
• Keep area clean, track inedible eggs, and dump inedible eggs into auger.
• Clean washer screens.
• Perform chemical checks, foam control in washers, and re‑wash eggs back into egg flow.
• Grade eggs from the washers per SOP.
• Provide smooth transition of eggs from transfer room to breaking machine.
• Assist as needed during breaks and clean‑up.
• Grade broken eggs from the breaking machine, removing bad or blood‑spot eggs and shells from cups.
• Perform clean‑up duties meeting USDA standards in Breaking, Transfer, and Shell rooms after production shift ends.

• Experience in Food Manufacturing or Processing desirable.
• Knowledge of safety programs and processes such as Confined Space, LOTO, Hazcom, etc.
• Ability to operate equipment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, water, and chemicals.
• Temperature regulated for operations standards; cooler temperatures in specific areas.
• Moderate noise level.
• Required personal protective equipment during certain conditions.
• Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) – hairnets, clean clothes, etc.
