About the role

The Line Service Technician I at Clay Lacy Aviation supports all ground operations for inbound and outbound aircraft, crews, and passengers. This role partners closely with other departments to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Learns and complies with all safety and operating standards of vehicle and passenger safety as well as airport policies
  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
  • Completes NATA Safety First, Clay Lacy Aviation and other job-related training
  • Communicates clearly with clients, leadership, and others
  • Makes decisions with multiple objectives and implements them in a safe, efficient manner
  • Fulfills oral and written directions; plans and completes assigned duties on a regular schedule; maintains good working relationships with others
  • May work flexible hours, including overtime, holidays, and covering time-off for the team
  • Works without direct management supervision
  • Works outdoors, day, night, and in all weather conditions
  • Performs a variety of manual tasks including facility cleaning, vehicle washing, aircraft window cleaning, aircraft lavatory and potable water service, fuel aircraft in accordance with ATA Specifications 103 and AirBP GAFO Standards, marshal aircraft under direct supervision, ensure aircraft are chocked and secured, effectively and safely communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment, operate light ground support equipment, provide basic security duties to people and property, direct people, drivers, and flight crews on ramp area, drive company and client vehicles off site, assist other departments as required including facility and hangar cleaning, and other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license in the state of work location
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Passes pre-employment drug testing and background check

Essential Job Functions

  • Able to comply with all safety requirements necessary to perform the job safely
  • Able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards

Position-Specific Skills

  • Ability to work in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or noise
  • Step up and down stairs, ladders, tugs, vehicles, and fuel trucks
  • Able to engage safely and effectively in gross and fine motor control movements such as operating machinery and handheld tools
  • Reach above shoulder level including waving marshalling wands
  • Execute hand signals in order to guide aircraft during arrivals and departures
  • Complete tasks safely and effectively that require hand and eye coordination
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull luggage from ground level to waist and overhead, up to 75 lbs
  • Bend and stoop to pick up tow bars, tools, and other equipment, up to 75 lbs
  • Stoop below aircraft wing to chock
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time, run when required
  • Reason, analyze, and solve problems
  • Communicate clearly with clients, leadership, and others
  • Basic computer skills

  • Prioritize and multitask in a distracting environment
