Line Service Technician

About the Role

Join our team as a Line Service Technician and play a vital role in daily aviation operations, providing elite customer service to crew and passengers. This position involves fueling and positioning aircraft, assisting with luggage, and communicating effectively on the radio. Freeman Jet Center services private, military, and commercial aircraft, fostering a team environment with a passion for aviation and extraordinary customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct arriving and departing aircraft, including proper placement of chocks and cones
• Aircraft movement, placement, fueling, and storage
• Fuel movement, quality control, disposal, and paperwork
• Facility maintenance and upkeep
• Greet passengers, pilots, and crew
• Attend bi-weekly crew meetings and annual recurrent training
• Perform equipment preventive maintenance
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner with all customers and employees
• Operate company equipment including fuel trucks, tugs, forklift, lav service cart, and GPUs
• Conduct security checks and light-duty care of the facilities

Requirements

• Customer focus with a naturally outgoing/extroverted personality
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and via radio
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by our insurance company (requires a clean driving record)
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
• Basic mathematical knowledge
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions
• Position may require bending, lifting, walking, jogging, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing a ladder
• High School Diploma
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Zero-tolerance drug-free employer; includes pre-employment and random screening
• No felonies over the previous 10 years

Customer service experience in the service industry is preferred. Prior aircraft ground handling experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This position works outside in all types of weather conditions and involves direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. Exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery may occur. Personal protective equipment is provided.

Pay

$15.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, including shift work, evenings, weekends, and scheduled company holidays.
