About the role

The Line Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring all planned maintenance requirements are compliant with the maintenance programs. They are responsible for coordinating and planning for out-of-service aircraft and line hold work packages, providing workload prioritization guidance, and reviewing databases of line and base maintenance capabilities and workforce availability.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely compliance of all planned maintenance requirements regulated by the maintenance programs
  • Manage and coordinate deferred and routine maintenance, including station capabilities, workforce, facility, materials, and tooling availability
  • Provide recommendations and direction to aircraft routing and operations for planned maintenance opportunities
  • Collaborate in the coordination and planning for out of service aircraft and line hold work package plans
  • Assure the company's goals for safety, security, and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting any non-compliance observations
  • Support and uphold United’s metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain workload prioritization and adjust as necessary to improve overall fleet efficiencies

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education
  • 3 years in the aircraft maintenance industry
  • Flexibility to work any shift in a 24-hour/7-day-a-week operation, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Up to 10% travel
  • Strong background and knowledge of aircraft and engine maintenance systems
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, and Engineering documents
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and computer skills
  • Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented
  • Flexible and adaptable to constant change
  • Capable of working well in a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Successfully completed the interview process
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in Aviation or Business Management
  • 2 years of maintenance planning experience
  • 2 years in an aircraft maintenance management role
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Programs and aircraft routing
