Line Operator

About the role

As an Automated Equipment Operator, you will operate automated equipment for the packaging of agricultural products throughout the facility and ensure optimum quality products through the operation of the automated equipment line.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, and service the computerized systems and robotic devices designed to reduce human interaction, such as robotic assembly devices for packaging equipment
• Perform routine diagnostic checks, monitor automated systems, isolate problems, and perform repairs; may require troubleshooting over the phone with an offsite technician
• Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks
• Monitor weights and quality of seals, caps, labels, and general packaging of product
• Efficiently perform changeovers to centerlines of equipment
• Collect required samples needed to verify no cross contamination
• Proficient use of various instruments and hand tools
• Use production software to maximize uptime and reduce breakdowns in the manufacturing process
• General housekeeping and adherence to the 5S standards
• Safety training and general safety awareness, including the use of PPE
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, programmable logic controllers, electrical machinery, and human machine interfaces
• Good math and analytic skills
• 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• Ability to lift 30-50 pounds comfortably on a regular basis
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to meet overtime requirements during seasonal work
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently when needed, while also being a solid team player
• Ability to drive a forklift
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
