Responsibilities
- Interpret and adhere to production work orders
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment
- Report any process or equipment problems
- Aid in training production assistants
- Organize work for smooth operations
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Ensure order set-ups, product quality checks, and equipment set-ups align with specifications
- Ensure scrap goals on assigned lines are met
- Assist maintenance technicians during breakdowns to minimize downtime
- Report malfunctions or unsafe working conditions to the Sr. Operator or Supervisor
- Participate in safety programs and training
- Attend meetings as scheduled
- Wear mandatory PPE
- Work as a team player with a positive attitude
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills
- Understand and actively participate in the company's EHS policy, goals, and objectives
Qualifications & Requirements
- Overall knowledge and experience of extruders, recycling procedures, and profiles of resins and their properties
- Able to work rotating 12-hour shifts including holidays and weekends
- Able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times
Essential Physical Requirements
- Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Exert up to 35 pounds of force frequently
- Stand for 12 hours
- Bend, twist, and rotate body at all times
- Reach for as much as 100% of workday
- Talk to communicate with others
- Hear to communicate with others and respond to manufacturing and PIT equipment sounds
- Use arms to grasp, handle, and type
- Walk to operate production machines and to package and palletize finished product

- Outdoors - 1/3 of the time or less
- Near moving mechanical parts - Over 2/3 of the time
- Near electrical components - 1/3 of the time or less
- Near vibrating equipment and tools - 1/3 of the time or less

Language Skills
Must be able to read and write in English
Education
High School diploma or GED preferred
