Safety
- Absorb all EHS policies and procedures (EHSPO001).
- Ensure bottles and boxes are suitable for production and match the product being run.
- Acquire a run sheet to determine what product will be made first.
- Maintain accurate documentation of product in production on the line you are responsible for.
- Ensure the correct boxes and bottles are available for production.
- Determine the cap, product, and other codes required for production.
- Place Filler into Production mode and set grams per gallon weights to specification.
- Communicate with the blending department on using correct piping lines.
- Take a sample from the filter system to the lab to ensure the product is correct.
- Engage all belts, both in front of the filler and behind the filler.
- Ensure that the conveyors are on for the packer.
- Ensure that the hot melt is on for the gluer and the palletizer is on and ready.
- Ensure there are enough caps and correct caps available to complete the specified number of cases.
- During operation, watch caps for build up or stalling, ensure pressure is set correctly for bottles to prevent overfill.
- Ensure bottles are not being misfed into the system.
- Ensure bottles are not stopped under the heater.
- At the end of a Finish Cases run, save twenty cases to drain the bowl of product.
- At the end of the production run, remove excess caps from the machine.
- Take the machine out of Production mode before changeover procedures begin.
- Ensure that the star is aligned, and that the pins used on the heads are correctly positioned.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area, machine, and the plant.
- Ensure current pallet tags are in place and no product damage or leaking occurs.
- Operate the production line to ensure customer satisfaction through safety and correct operation of various machines.
- Accurately package and label finished goods in a clean and leak-proof condition.
- Operate a fork truck and other material handling equipment.
- Communicate all mechanical and electrical issues with Supervisor and Maintenance.
- Assist/coach new hires with line loading speeds and techniques to adequately meet job requirements.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and improvements when the line goes down.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as required.
Education, Skills And Abilities
- High School diploma or GED, or 1-3 years relevant experience.
- Certified forklift operator.
- Ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
- Understand written and verbal work instructions.
- Have mechanical aptitude to operate machines responsibly in a safe and efficient manner and make minor repairs and adjustments as required.
- Good judgment and decision making, able to work independently or in a team environment.
