Line Mechanic-Hot Stick (Anticipated)

About the role

We are presently seeking Line Mechanic‑Hot Stick for anticipated openings in the Albany, NY area.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, perform all types of work involved in the construction, rearrangement, operation and maintenance of transmission or distribution circuits that require the use of a complete set of hot line tools. Carry out all duties of a Line Mechanic C as required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Journeyman Lineman with a minimum of five and a half years of lineman experience (may need to provide journeyman card).
• Successfully completed company‑prescribed training and qualified in the use of a complete set of hot line tools.
• Pass physical abilities examination.
• Pass validated aptitude test.
• Hold a CDL A.
• Good knowledge of the transmission and distribution systems in the assigned area.
• Ability and willingness to work around hazardous/heavy equipment and energized electrical equipment.
• Ability and willingness to wear and use required safety equipment per company safety rules and federal, state, local regulations.
• Ability and willingness to travel to various company locations and remote job sites.
• Ability and willingness to work different schedules, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments: all weather conditions, elevated heights (above 30 ft), and confined spaces.
• Subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations for DOT‑covered positions (FMCSA, PHMSA); must comply with company testing programs.
• Position may be classified as a Day Worker or Scheduled Worker per the Labor Agreement extension.
• No visa sponsorship provided; must be authorized to work without need for current or future sponsorship.
• Selection process includes an AI/statistically based assessment per NYC Local Law 144.
• Terms and conditions of employment are governed by a collective bargaining agreement; new hires must adhere to its provisions.

Pay

Starting wage of $59.64 per hour.

Schedule

Eligible for classification as a Day Worker or Scheduled Worker; must be willing to work varying schedules, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
