Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor of the Ham Stuffing Department in overseeing the production team's activities.
• Provide the supervisor with input on employee counseling and performance evaluations.
• Assist the supervisor with day-to-day production to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Ensure staff meets production, quality, and safety goals.
• Assume the supervisor's duties in their absence.
• Supervise all operational and safety-related functions of company equipment and machinery (injectors, massage barrels, masserators, grinders, tipper ties, pallet jacks, high lifts, and other production-related machinery).
• Use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Understand all aspects of company recipes.
• Lift 20 to 80 lb bags of recipe spices.
• Track product yields, pump percentages, and formulate meat blocks.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and other team members.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems.
• Work and train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.
• Operate machinery and plan staff scheduling, rotation, and tasks.
• Report plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.

Requirements

The role requires basic math proficiency, ability to lift 20–80 lb bags, understanding of recipes, tracking yields and percentages, formulating meat blocks, effective communication skills, common‑sense problem solving, ability to work/train in a refrigerated setting, and experience operating machinery and reporting breakdowns.

Schedule

Hours: 2:30 pm – 11:30 pm, with some mandatory overtime.
