Line Cook/Prep Cook - Roast & Toast

About the role

Roast & Toast is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and preparation.

Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food storage practices.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all guests.
• Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation, ensuring precision and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
• Support the team by helping with various tasks as required, including dishwashing or cleaning when necessary.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a fast-paced kitchen/restaurant setting is preferred.
• Knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills in the kitchen.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
• Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
• Shift: 8-hour shift, Evening shift, Morning shift
