Line Cook / Prep Cook - JOEY Valley Fair

About the role

This position offers a wage scale ranging from $18.45 to $30.00 per hour, with the option to participate in a company tip pool. Tip earnings can vary, but on average, employees may make between $3.00 and $10.00 in tips per hour.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver world-class culinary experiences to guests.
• Operate with consistency and precision while utilizing preparation and cooking methods for a quick and distinct execution of the menu items.
• Foster a clean and safe environment.
• Follow specifications and uphold the quality of products.
• As a Line Cook:
• Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards.
• Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of menu items in accordance with JOEY recipes.
• Wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc.
• Coordinate with other stations.
• Develop knife skills for efficiency and safety.
• Communicate with the team to deliver perfect food coordination.
• Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
• Clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, prep and dry storage areas, etc.
• Complete assigned side work and closing duties to set your team up for success.
• As a Prep Cook:
• Ensure your team's success by following specifications and guidelines to ensure product quality and portions are met.
• Execute the preparation of all ingredients so that your team can deliver iconic culinary experiences to guests that are consistent and world-class.

Requirements

• 1-3+ years culinary experience (or equivalent).
• Valid local and/or state Food Handler permits.
• A passion for hospitality and a proven track record of creating world-class hospitality experiences.
• The ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks; and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
