About the role
The Line Cook role at JOEY Restaurant Group is a full-time, on-site position located in Newport Beach, CA.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and cooks menu items according to JOEY’s recipes, standards, and plating guidelines, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
- Sets up and maintains station prep, manages inventory for assigned stations, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Works closely with the kitchen team to support smooth service, communicates effectively with peers and leaders, and follows food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Participates in ongoing training, supports new team members, and contributes to a positive, respectful, and guest-focused kitchen culture.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in casual or upscale dining.
- Strong knife skills, proficiency in basic cooking techniques, and ability to follow recipes and kitchen standards accurately.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation practices, and safe handling procedures in accordance with local health regulations.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple tickets, and maintain composure in a busy service environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with chefs, kitchen teammates, and front-of-house partners.
- Availability for a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by restaurant operations.
- Commitment to continuous learning, openness to feedback, and desire to grow within JOEY Restaurant Group.
- Food Handler or Food Safety certification (or willingness to obtain) and legal authorization to work in the United States.
