About the role
The Lakefront Anchorage hotel is seeking a full-time Line Cook to join their dynamic team. Located on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, the hotel is conveniently situated near Anchorage International Airport and downtown Anchorage.
Responsibilities
- Prepares all food items according to recipes and standards in a sanitary and timely manner
- Fulfills portion and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
- Ensures quality of products served meets high standards
- Assumes responsibility for station set-up, breakdown, and advance prep work
- Keeps stations clean and well-stocked with menu ingredients
- Maintains kitchen cleanliness and sanitization
- Monitors and ensures proper food temperatures during handling
- Communicates with management about product deficiencies, equipment, and safety issues
Requirements
- At least one year of cooking experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Knowledge of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene practices
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to lift at least 20-40 pounds regularly
- Proficient in preparing food according to guest requests and recipe standards
- Patience, tact, and diplomacy in customer service
- Valid food handlers' card
- Willingness to work as part of a productive team
- Ability to work independently and safely
