Responsibilities
- Prepares food items in various areas of the kitchen according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
- Cleans and maintains stations using good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
- Uses and maintains all equipment in station as required.
- Assists with cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
Requirements
- Able to communicate in, read, write, and understand the primary language of the work location.
- Able to perform simple mathematical calculations as they relate to recipe execution.
- Able to stand and exert mobility for periods up to 6 hours in length.
- Able to lift pots, pans, and etc. weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Understands and knows safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
- Able to use small tools with finger dexterity.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and other employees.
- Previous prep or line cook experience preferred.
Additional Information
- Duties include preparing food items according to standards and recipes, assisting other line cooks, communicating with kitchen staff, observing quality of food, maintaining kitchen equipment, and performing other related tasks as assigned.
- Requires knowledge of specials menu abbreviations, safe food temperatures, cook times, and plating techniques.
