About the role

The Line Cook plays a critical role in preparing fresh, high-quality dishes while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items following recipes, portion control, and presentation specifications.
  • Maintain fast, accurate service to ensure all dishes meet Nick's quality standards.
  • Assist with prep work, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
  • Keep kitchen areas clean, stocked, and organized throughout service.
  • Practice safe food handling and maintain a sanitary workspace.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Work as part of a team-service approach, collaborating with colleagues to maintain a stress-free and engaging work environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, embodying Nick's values of Excellence, Teamwork, Respect, and Accountability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of cooking experience in a high-volume hospitality setting (restaurant, hotel, hospital, school, or similar).
  • ServSafe certification is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Physical requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6-10 hours per shift), lift and carry kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs., work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to ovens, grills, and fryers, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions, including chopping, stirring, and plating food.

Pay

This position starts at $15.00 per hour.
