About the role

We are expanding our team with the opening of our second Casey's Tavern in East Ann Arbor. Since 1986, Casey's Tavern has been known for its "Lots of Good Cheap Food and Dozens of Beers" and is a beloved local institution in Ann Arbor. Located in the historic Depot Street building, Casey's Tavern offers a casual, relaxed atmosphere and a diverse menu including burgers, sandwiches, salads, fish, steaks, vegetarian options, and desserts. The tavern also features weekly Blackboard Specials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and food safety guidelines
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
• Follow all food safety and quality control procedures
• Adhere to portion control standards
• May assist in preparing and serving food to customers

Requirements

• At least one year of relevant work experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety regulations
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new menu items and kitchen procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid food handler’s permit
• Experience with commercial kitchen equipment

Skills

• Proficiency in using commercial kitchen equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
