About The Position

The Line Cook is responsible for enhancing the Resident experience through exceptional food production and control of the quality and quantity of all food items prepared in the station. This includes meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, desserts, etc. The role models The Sterling Touch® professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely manner, ensuring high levels of satisfaction for Residents and their guests.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship, preferred.
  • One or more years of experience cooking in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen, preferred.
  • One or more years of experience with scratch cooking, preferred.
  • Sauté and/or broiler experience, preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language to direct, manage, hire, and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes, and communicate with other employees, Residents, and their guests.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms to use all kitchen equipment and utensils (e.g., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.).
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges.
