What You'll Do
- Plan cooking schedule so that the finished product reaches the consumer at peak quality
- Prepare meat and main dishes, vegetables, soups, gravies, hot breakfast items and hot beverages
- Prepare all diet modifications necessary, and ensures resident’s receive foods appropriate to their needs / diet orders
- Assemble all ingredients, complete all pre-preparation (trimming, icing, washing, portioning, adjusting temperature controls) before advancing to final preparation (mixing, blending, cooking, etc)
- Apportion servings in accordance with yield specified on standardized recipes and in accordance with modified diet extension spreadsheets
- Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
What You'll Need
- Prefer three (3) months of supervised training and six months experience in quantity food service
- Must be, as a minimum, thoroughly familiar with foods and preparation methods
- Must know proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization in yield of meats and other foods; as well as how to time cooking of vegetables so that their nutritional quality, flavor and appearance are preserved
- Must have knowledge in and an appreciation for principles and requirement of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
Compensation
Compensation is $20.50 - $21.50 per hour based on experience, plus our comprehensive benefits package!
