Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold food items, including salads, desserts, cold appetizers, grilled ingredients, and cooked vegetables.
  • Ensure all dishes are made with precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, deep fryers, ovens, electric slicers, and standard kitchen utensils like knives, tongs, and spatulas, following all safety protocols.
  • Retrieve, organize, and store ingredients properly in refrigerators, freezers, and pantry areas.
  • Rotate stock, label items with expiration dates, and ensure freshness of all ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment, including food preparation areas, storage spaces, and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Work closely with fellow kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation, assist in plating and garnishing dishes, and contribute to smooth kitchen operations during peak service times.
  • Ensure dishes are assembled and presented attractively, meeting quality and visual standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with solid knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
  • Proficiency in preparing a wide range of dishes, including using kitchen tools and appliances like grills, fryers, slicers, and ovens.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality, well-prepared, and beautifully presented dishes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work efficiently, especially during busy periods, while ensuring all food is prepared on time and to the required standards.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry heavy items, and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Must have open availability. This is a AM position. Flexibility is required based on business needs, including potential overtime, holiday and weekend shifts.
