Line Clearance Foreman
Locations: Medina, OH and surrounding areas including Seville, Wellington, Ashland, Medina County, and Lorain County, OH. Work site is on-site.
About the Role
Davey Utility Line Clearance is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers in the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions. CDL holders and/or those with climbing experience are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead a tree crew in safely and skillfully performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services.
- Tasks include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal, and removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
- Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
- Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work.
- Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Mentor and train new employees.
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
- Valid driver’s license (required).
- Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain (preferred).
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work (required).
Qualifications
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law (preferred).
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (preferred).
