Primary Objective

The Line Buyer will work diligently with the Purchasing Agent to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner and aid in the entry of requirements that suppliers bring to the table. Line Buyers are filters within the department to allow the Purchasing Agent to focus on more pressing items.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Review monthly report and reorder any items/parts as needed pertaining to cycle counts.
  • Collaborate with vendors for items of coverage and quality issues.
  • Run daily reports to help communicate with suppliers on the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
  • Assist Purchasing Agent with MRP parts when needed (expedite part shortages for items of coverage on cycle counts).
  • Review Purchasing Agents' MRP purchase orders.
  • Work closely with Inventory Control to manage obsolete materials for items of coverage.
  • First line of defense for Purchasing Agent – Contacting vendors with issues.
  • Place "Hot Orders" at the request of the Purchasing Agent.
  • Track and report on daily offline reports and prepare weekly data graphs for the Plant Manager.
  • Prepare the weekly Working Capital Report.
  • Address invoice issues with the accounting department for items of coverage.
  • Manage vendor cycle counts, personal cycle counts, and order confirmation.
  • Complete a daily shortage walk to monitor in-house inventory movement.
  • Review PCN and TDs for items on cycle counts to determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs.
  • Answer any radio calls from receivers and lines.
  • Review Purchasing Agents orders to confirm completion.
  • Assist in quarterly inventory processes.
  • Run track reports for the receivers.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook email).
  • Broad knowledge of RV products and components is required.
  • Analytical and strong communication skills are necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Stand, walk, sit in a production environment.
  • Office sitting and standing environment.
  • Able to work early hours with a flexible schedule.
