About the role

Primarily responsible for working on an assembly line performing one or two steps in removing parts/pieces from a whole bird on the cone line. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Use a knife or scissors to cut and debone chicken carcass as it moves down a line in front of you
  • Follow directions and work in other departments as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, doing rapid and repetitive work in a cold and damp environment
  • May include lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
  • Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to perform all tasks as assigned by members of management
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours
  • Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Relative poultry industry experience (preferred)
  • Basic math functions and skills (preferred)

Physical requirements

  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45°F / 4°C)
  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO₂, and moving production equipment
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly, and climb steps
  • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend
  • Ability to work in an environment with strong, raw animal odors
