About the role

Provide instructional services necessary to educate all students to high standards that align with district state and federal requirements guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district and state standards.
  • Teach subjects at assigned grade levels as per the Indiana teaching license or alternative credential.
  • Utilize effective practices including principles, theories, procedures, and techniques in classroom instruction.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide a comprehensive educational environment.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly to meet individual learning needs.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate regularly with parents about student performance and progress.

Requirements

  • Valid Indiana teaching license for the assigned grade levels and/or subject areas OR eligibility to obtain an alternative teaching credential.
  • Knowledge of effective practices including principles, theories, procedures, and techniques used in lesson plan development and classroom instruction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff.
  • Pass required background checks and health screenings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a valid Indiana teaching license for the assigned grade levels and/or subject areas OR eligibility to obtain an alternative teaching credential.
  • Must possess knowledge of effective practices including principles, theories, procedures, and techniques used in lesson plan development and classroom instruction.
  • Eligibility for the Indiana's Early Literacy Endorsement requires holding or being on track to obtain the endorsement, especially for teachers working with retained grade 3 students.
