Job Summary
Limited Radiology Techs perform radiographic examinations using various technical aspects that require judgement, ingenuity, and initiative to obtain diagnostic images. They promote a cooperative and professional atmosphere with a focus on patient care and serve patients of all ages.
Job Description
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of patient positioning, principles of CR/DR, Fluoroscopy, quality control, image processing, and the ability to plan own work.
- Aids physicians in performing procedures and documents appropriate information in patients' charts.
- Bills procedures and exams correctly, examines requisitions for appropriate orders, dates, and indications for exams, and reprints corrected requisitions.
- Performs daily Quality Assurance and temperature documentation, prepares correct procedure trays when assisting physicians, and consistently provides quality diagnostic exams for interpretation.
- Works competently within required computer programs (PACS, RIS, Vrad) as well as manual downtime processes.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Required Additional Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent or General Studies Certification in Radiology Program from a JCERT Accredited Institution/Facility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience: 1+ years of healthcare experience.
- Certification: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
Preferred Experience
- Enrolled or completed a limited tech program or enrolled in an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
Scheduling Requirements
Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.
Physical Requirements
- Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
- Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
