About the Role
Responsibilities include checking rail cars and trucks for foreign materials, loading trucks and rail cars with hydrated lime, quick lime, and by-products to legal weight, monitoring and reporting conditions that could lead to product nonconformity, and participating in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Inspect work areas for safety hazards before beginning work activity
- Climb onto the top of rail cars, trucks, and/or loading platforms
- Load rail cars and trucks to proper weights
- Operate rail switches and assist loader operator to move rail cars between tracks
- Take and record tank measurements for inventory purposes
- Perform rail car inspection and cleaning
- Complete safety, health, and task training
- Read and use operator’s manuals and fill out simple reports such as pre-shift inspection forms
- Carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with standardized problems
- Understand machine mechanics and relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Safely complete assigned training and meet performance standards
- Replace or assist other workers as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision or designated lead person
Physical Demands
The role requires regular standing, frequent walking, and occasional sitting. Employees must be able to:
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Talk, hear, and taste or smell
- Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly, up to 60 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Starting at $28.81 per hour.
