Lighting Technician/Spotlight Operator

Job Overview: RWS Global is seeking a dedicated Lighting Technician/Spotlight Operator to support productions during the seasonal contract period. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of theatrical lighting operations, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and be able to follow direction from the Technical Director, Lead, or Lighting Designer.

Responsibilities

• Operate spotlight during performances and conduct basic maintenance as needed
• Change lighting gels and perform other necessary lighting-related tasks
• Follow stage directions and maintain a working knowledge of theatrical staging requirements
• Collaborate with other RWS employees and production staff to ensure seamless operation
• Adhere to production schedules, deadlines, and operational procedures
• Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of all work areas, including backstage, dressing rooms, and green rooms
• Comply with all safety protocols, company policies, and infectious disease control measures
• Follow the company’s chain of command and guidelines for professional conduct
• Assist with install/load-in and strike/load-out processes as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned and reasonable for the position

Requirements

• Prior experience in theatrical lighting, spotlight operation, or stage production preferred
• Basic understanding of lighting equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods and lifting equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise cues and instructions
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to adhere to company policies and safety regulations
