About the role
The Lighting Technician is responsible for setting up and operating lighting equipment to enhance performances and events. This role is based in the Vine Showroom and assists with lighting across the property.
Responsibilities
- Uphold and enhance del Lago brand values of excellence, excitement, and homegrown hospitality.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Follow safety protocols to protect crew members and performers.
- Set up, test, repair, and focus lighting equipment for productions and performances.
- Patch or wire lighting fixtures to dimmers or electronic control consoles.
- Adjust lighting setups during performances or concerts, including changing color gels as needed.
- Safely dismantle and store lighting equipment following shows.
- Interpret, develop, and communicate lighting plans effectively.
- Supervise and direct stage crew for the setup, teardown, and adjustment of lighting equipment before, during, and after performances.
- Maintain high performance standards for all crew members.
- Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of all devices, cables, and equipment for performance venues.
- Collaborate with producers, performers, and other stakeholders to determine and achieve desired lighting for productions.
- Support property-wide audio-visual needs, including lighting, audio setups, and staging.
- Create and manage documentation for lighting setups, including light plots, equipment configurations, and cue sheets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College degree preferred.
- 2+ years experience in theater production or a similar capacity.
- 2+ years technical experience with a GrandMA2 (full size) lighting console preferred.
- 2+ years of professional experience in troubleshooting electrical systems, especially lighting.
- Experience installing lighting equipment.
- General knowledge of audio production and video production, or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of Crestron programming, or willingness to learn.
- Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and solution-oriented.
- Team player.
- Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests, and outside contacts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work for extended time seated as well as on your feet.
Skills
- Knowledge of lighting technology and techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with lighting equipment.
- Ability to design and program lighting cues using lighting consoles.
- Ability to inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on lighting equipment.
- Ability to stay up to date with the latest lighting technologies and techniques.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and training to team members or new hires.
- Ability to collaborate with the audio-visual team to integrate lighting with sound, video, and stage elements.
Benefits
Del Lago provides a competitive pay range of $75,150 - $83,500 annually.
