Lighting Supervisor
About the role
The Lighting Supervisor at Solotech is responsible for overseeing the Lighting Teams' daily operations, ensuring productivity and quality, and implementing departmental SOPs. This role requires managing daily workflow, adjusting schedules to meet production needs, and ensuring compliance with procedures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Lighting Manager to plan and organize the daily activities of their department and prioritize the technicians' tasks.
- Establish technicians' schedules and assign work in an optimal way.
- Monitor employee productivity through metrics, identifying coaching and mentoring opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the operational analyst to maintain operational efficiencies.
- Verify that QC'd lights meet the required standards and service tickets are raised as required.
- Advise technicians on A and B QC requirements.
- Monitor the history of the QC on return process and suggest different options for operational efficiency.
- Verify the accuracy, quality, and completeness of each return before receiving it in Solotech systems.
- Utilize warehouse space to ensure an organized and efficient workspace for all technicians; report any damage or hazards to the Senior Operations Manager.
- Supervise cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity.
- Aid in developing and implementing inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between inventory records and physical counts.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and keep inventory spaces organized.
- Assist in operational projects, changes, and moves.
- Coordinate, manage, and offer the necessary support to the team.
- Train new hires in processes and procedures for the department.
- Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures and KPI's for the department.
- Absorb and manage the overdue report by coordinating with the Lighting Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in audiovisual, stage techniques, or equivalent training preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in live events.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisor experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of technical knowledge and hands-on experience with professional lighting equipment.
- Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset).
- Knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Excellent sense of priorities and schedule management.
- Highly developed sense of organization.
- Teamwork-oriented.
